-you sleep all night!

Today Nana Jan and I took Trey and my niece Chloe to get their pictures made at Sears. Sorry I don't know how to turn them. It will be 2 weeks before the ones we ordered come in (Sept 11) I think Trey did very good. Next time I will be taking all 3 boys so we can get some of them together.

On a separate note, David (my super picky eater for those who know him) ate peperoni pizza WITH sauce and he ate chicken fried rice and didn't complain or make faces or gag. I was SO very proud of him. He even said he LIKED the chicken fried rice! He asked me to make it again really soon.

Nick came home with a new AR (accelerated reader) book in the next grade level up from where he was (I think 2nd grade level was where he was and he is now in the 3rd grade level books!) He was excited because he was in Neon Yellow level (all the grade levels are color coded)

Wow it is hard to believe a week ago we were still waiting on this sweet baby boy to join us. Last night he did so good waking up only 2 times to eat! Trey is getting more used to diaper changes though he still hates them. He is my little snuggle buddy. He does not like his bath or to get naked though he is ok once he is naked.

Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. How your baby's growing:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)

33 weeks and I feel HUGE lol

This is what you get when you ask a 9 yr old to take the pic!!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

After swimming and getting dry clothes on/ getting in their PJ's the boys built things with the legos. David is building the temple ruins, unique droids and droid ships. Nick built a frog ship. After they cleaned up the legos I decided that we needed to get the pack-n-play out and make sure all the parts were there and that I know how to put it together.

Here it is put together with bassinet attachment, changing station and mobile. There is also an organizer and a thing that makes music and has lights on it.

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

I just wanted to post this picture! I love it! This was taken our last day in Jamaica and I didn't have a copy of it till just the other day.

In other news I found a great deal on a bassinet at a yard sale this morning. I am washing the cover and when it dries I will put it back together and take a pic for the blog. I also got a few more little sleepers (in bigger sizes) for our little man. I feel like there is so much I still need but don't have. Socks, blankets, bibs, onsies and little things like that. Oh yes now I need bassinet sheets too. (it didn't come with any)

Week 29

How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Only 3 days of school left for me!! The boys have 4 days left. On Friday morning EARLY we (the ladies I work with) are leaving and going to St. Simon's. We will be spending a long weekend away and will come home that next Monday.

This weekend we ordered ants for the gel ant farm. We had graduation (pre-k) and the boys went to the track.

I have also realized that I have a bunch of clothes for our baby boy but still other things I need to stock up on including socks, onsies, washclothes, towels, sheets and recieving blankets. I have plenty of pj type clothes for him but not as many outfits for going out. Oh yes and Friday I bought him his Christmas outfit. (a place here in town is going out of business and I got it for $9 including tax) I can't believe how fast these last few weeks have gone. In no time we will be holding this squirmy little boy and loving on him.

Ultrasound and GTT

Yesterday (Wed) I had an ultrasound to check our little boy because I am measuring 3 weeks ahead of where I should be. While the ultrasound tech was trying to see his head (he is head down WAY DOWN) she got a look at his face and he stuck his little tongue out at us. Then he proceeded to pout. It was really cute and I wish she had printed pictures of that. He is measuring right on target and I have around 14 cm of amniotic fluid. So everything is looking good and when I groaned when she said I had gained 3lbs she said "NO NO NO you are doing good"

This morning I went in for my GTT (glucose tolerance test) After drinking the stuff that kinda tasted like a really flat and ultra sweet sprite I had to wait an hour for them to take blood. The nurse stuck the needle in and ...... Nothing happened.... no blood came out. So she tried the other arm. Got a little blood but not enough. So then they stuck a needle in the back of my hand and FINALLY got enough blood for my test. My poor hand has a lump and is very sore and tender. and my arm hurts where they tried the second time. I should know something in the next few days (Monday or Tuesday I think)

Otherwise we are all doing good and counting down the last days of school. The boys have 5 days left (tomorrow and next week) and I have 4 days left. Our little school's graduation is this Sunday and then I get to go to the beach a week from tomorrow. (With NO kids!!!) My boss is taking my co-workers and myself for a long weekend on St. Simons (sp?) Oh yes and I am now to the 2 weeks between appointments. Wow this pregnancy is going by so fast.

28 Weeks

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

This weeks is a crazy one. Not only is it the next to last week of school, I also have 2 doctor's appointments this week. UHHHG. On Wed I go back for another ultrasound. I am measuring 3 weeks ahead of where I should be so they are checking things out. Also I have my GTT/screening for gestational diabetes on Thursday morning (7:30am) and a regular appointment that same morning. I am tired already. We are also having a Father's breakfast on Friday. This week is going to be crazy.

Also Saturday night it was raining and storming a little. At 4am I heard a LOUD CRACK and then a big crash. A huge oak tree from across the street came down and took out a power pole. Tracy had left a little before 8 to speak at the Brotherhood breakfast at Son Rise. I got up and got the boys dressed and myself. When we left the house at a little after 10am the power was still off. When we got home from church (and lunch because we didn't know if we had power back yet) The cable guy was here replacing the line because the tree had ripped the line out when it fell. I climed into bed and slept till after 4pm.

I am feeling better after my nap and some supper. The boys (who sleep through everything) didn't even know anything happened till they got up and couldn't turn on the TV or computers. Tracy said that the brotherhood breakfast was great and that it felt really good to get up and talk with them. I go to the dr. on Wed of this week. All in all we are doing good and we are all safe.

My mom found this diaper bag while we were shopping one day and we decided it needed to have our last initial embroidered on it. I took it to a local shop and got them to do it. I think it turned out really cute. The bag is brown and the inside is a nice baby blue. The big E is lime green!

Ok so my cousin LeeAnn's husband Daniel came down to my house tonight and FIXED my dryer!!! It is awesome. I received the dryer from my brother David and his wife Danielle when they moved into my parent's house. The washer I have been using the whole time but the dryer was plugged in one time and quit working. On Easter Sunday we were talking about it and Daniel said he could probably fix it. Well he just left a few minutes ago and I have clothes drying in THAT dryer! I am so proud. The dryer I have been using takes FOREVER to dry something. I have to start it then go start it again (taking ohhhh 3 hours or so to dry one load). This newer dryer also holds more clothes! I am so happy that I have a working dryer again.

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. This little one is so strong already!

Early this morning I could feel our baby kicking and so I put Tracy's hand on my belly.

His eyes got really big because the baby kicked so hard.

Tracy is doing better but still really sore.

He busted open one of the incisions and ended up with some bruising around another.

I told him he would have been feeling a lot better by now if not for the work incident.

He agreed. We are grateful for all your prayers.

I hate my husband's job and his stupid family that runs that job. HATE I tell you HATE. I am so pissed right now I can hardly see strait. I am so mad I am cussing (and I don't cuss) How selfish and selfseeking these people are who can't even leave a poor guy alone 24 hours after having surgery. I swear if that building blew up I would be HAPPY. I hate what they are doing to my husband and my family. NO work for 2 weeks means 2 weeks not 2 hours DUH. I am so ready to move ANYWHERE else besides here. ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!

On another note, Tracy is doing good! He was not dealing well with the meds they put in his IV but now it is wearing off and he has eaten something and drank some of his unsweet tea. He is feeling well enough to get on his computer. He is talking to some of his friends on there now. It ended up he did have gallstones even though the ultrasound said he didn't. So he was doubly (is that a word?) hurting. Gallbladder that didn't work and he had stones. My poor hubby. Thanks to everyone that prayed for us today. We appreciate it very much.

Tracy had to go have a HIDA test to see how his gallbladder was functioning. It is not working right and making him be in a lot of pain and making him feel sick. He goes to the surgeon Monday the 16th to find out when they will do surgery. Please pray for my husband he is so tired of feeling bad and ready for this to all be over. He is worried that they will tell him that when he goes to the surgeon that it will be weeks longer before they can do anything for him. I pray for quick surgery date and quick recovery.

Just a little note about my ultrasound today.

Our little one had it's hands covering itself when we started looking. Everything looks good. The baby is measuring a few days ahead of my due date. The ultrasound lady searched and searched but couldn't see anything because of the way the baby was facing and it kept covering itself. The baby was pressing itself against the placenta and looked like it was trying to fold itself in half. She (the ultrasound tech) thinks it is a boy. After all the moving around and measuring she thinks she saw boy parts. I will try to get my ultrasound pics scanned so I can post them.

I am sitting here in the wonderfully air conditioned Internet Caffe at Galena Breeze. The view is AWESOME!! It is about 85 degrees outside right now and very humid. We went to church this morning and worshiped the the Jamaicans. It was a great experience. The children had been taught a song by a group that came last year and is here again this year. They got up and sang the song for everyone! It was so sweet and just awesome. Yesterday was crazy but today is better so far. We have a few free hours for now and then a meeting and supper at 6:30.

This week we have a little lime. I have quit throwing up and the morning sickness is mostly gone. Some things (smells) still make me sick though. I had a dr's appointmet this past Tuesday and all looks good. I have lost 6 lbs since last month. I got to hear the baby's heart beat with a doppler and was told it sounded very good. All my blood work looks great and I am not quite as tired as I have been being.
